Inspired by the medieval Laufás altar cloth anno 1694, housed in the National Museum of Iceland. A daughter's gift to the church of Laufás, the embroidered cloth was a token of gratitude for the burial of her dear mother. As homage to Icelandic culture, the renowned seamstress, Ragnheiður Jónsdóttir, graces the front of the Icelandic 5000 kr bank note.
The weave is approx. 70 cm x 190 cm.
50/50 merino wool & viscose.
